Last Sunday we took a short trip to the nearby Finger Lakes region and visited Watkins Glen State Park where water was ample and temperature was much cooler down at the gorge and in the woods.

The hike along the major Gorge Trail was much easier than I had anticipated. The 830+ steps of stone staircases were well-made, wide and quite easy to stroll on. On the way back we took the South Rim Trail and came across a Lily Pond where I took these pictures. This is my first take on a pond full of lilies.
